What is Space-Time Smackdown?
Space-Time Smackdown (set code A2) is the second main expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket. It draws from the Sinnoh region and features Dialga ex and Palkia ex as its headline crown rares (A2 207 and A2 206). The set introduced new archetypes and shook up the competitive meta that Genetic Apex had established.
A2 is a full-size expansion with 207 cards (155 numbered cards plus 52 secret rares) split across two pack designs. It offers both competitive staples and high-value trade cards.
Pack distribution
Space-Time Smackdown splits its cards across two pack designs, each themed around one of the legendary duo. Packs are not divided by energy type — each design has its own mix of cards, and the two crown rares can appear in either pack.
Dialga Pack
The headline chase is Dialga ex (A2 119), a Metal-type whose Metallic Turbo attack takes 2 Energy from your Energy Zone and attaches it to one of your Benched Pokémon. The other ex cards in this pack are Yanmega ex, Pachirisu ex, Gallade ex and Darkrai ex.
Collectors chasing Dialga ex, Darkrai ex or Gallade ex should open this pack.
Palkia Pack
Palkia ex (A2 049) leads this pack. Its Dimensional Storm attack does 150 damage, discards 3 Energy from Palkia ex and also does 20 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. The other ex cards in this pack are Infernape ex, Mismagius ex, Weavile ex and Lickilicky ex.
Water and Fire players get the most from this pack.
Chase cards and values
A2 introduced several high-value cards that compete with the Genetic Apex originals. Check our Value Checker for current trade ratios.
- Dialga ex — S-tier trade value, especially the crown rare version (A2 207).
- Palkia ex — S/A-tier. Water-type boss; its crown rare version is A2 206.
- Darkrai ex — A-tier. Darkness-type ex from the Dialga pack.
- Infernape ex, Gallade ex, Weavile ex — B-tier trade targets for Fire, Fighting and Darkness decks.
Pull rates
A2 uses the same rarity system as previous sets. Pull rates per pack opening:
- Common and uncommon: same as Genetic Apex, you will complete these within 50-80 packs per pack type.
- Rare cards: expect most within 100-150 packs.
- EX cards: approximately 5% per pack.
- Crown rares (Dialga ex A2 207, Palkia ex A2 206): the in-game offering rates list each at 0.02% in the 4th slot and 0.08% in the 5th slot — about 0.1% per pack each, or roughly 1 in 1,000 (source).

Completing the set
A2 is a large set with two pack types, making full completion a significant investment. Here is how to approach it efficiently.
- Focus on one pack type at a time. Complete the commons and uncommons before switching.
- Trade aggressively — A2 duplicates are in high demand while the set is current.
- Crown rares will almost certainly require trading. Start accumulating trade assets from your extra EX pulls.

Is Space-Time Smackdown the best set to open?
Space-Time Smackdown is no longer the newest set, so check which cards are seeing play in the current format before you commit pack openings to it. Dialga ex and Palkia ex defined the meta when the set launched, and its crown rares remain strong trade assets. For trade value, A2 crown rares are right behind the original Genetic Apex trio.
